I’m not being funny but is the most sophisticated way of knowing what the speed was is to photograph it? Surely there should be some sort of centralised record database where police can cross-check times and displayed speeds?!

the cameras before the one on the gantry arent to read the speed signs. those ARE the speed sensors, then the gantry cam gets you. the camera simply adjusts itself to the speed limit, simple.

The amount of times I drive of the motorway in the evening and you get 50 on the most quiet road with a sign queue ahead when it’s completely bs.

I have perfect 20/20 vision and even I struggle to read the speed in time. also causes issues as you’re having people slam on the break at each gantry.
