You can’t do this with an automatic gear box because the engine and the gears aren’t locked together when the engine is stopped

because they want to sell more starter with more 150% guarantee you will buy an other one with high labor cost like to take more part out just to get into the starter motor itself and if you are lucky you will eventually damage other parts, turns out you can not afford to fix it and now it is two things either you sell it for less so they can buy it fix it themselves and sell it expensive like you never spend any money on it. or either you did buy insurance for breakdown so ....

Does not work for automatic car because there is no oil pressure in gearbox which rely on motor spinning. when oil pressure increase, gears connect each other and car can move.
