Simone had chosen her father’s birthday for her scheduled C-section, hoping they would share that special date. Then Shari’s induced labor progressed faster than expected, changing their shared doctor’s schedule. Shari welcomed Hailey at 12:57 p.m. Simone’s daughter, Liberty, arrived at 5:30 p.m.—four hours and 33 minutes later. Two sisters became mothers again and for the first time, respectively, while their father gained two little birthday companions. Shari hoped the cousins would grow up as best friends.
