I agree artifacts and historically significant things should be in museums but in museums of their homeland. There's no reason why mummies should be kept in the United States 😭

Hear me out, they could just make museums where the artifact originated from and then tourists could go there if they wanted to see it. Or once in a while artifacts could go to other places as a special exhibit and then be returned.

I grew up in a small town that’s library had a private collection of an “egyptologists” collection of stuff on display which included a mummy. As a child, I used to talk to her. It made me incredibly sad. I always got the vibe she was full of sorrow.

STOP IT, I have never heard anyone discuss this. has that mummy ever moved to any other locations ? In the early 90s I was on a field trip to the Boston museum of science with my class. I was obsessed with Egypt as a child and as my group moved through the mummy exhibit I lingered behind reading the display cases I hadn’t even noticed I was the only one left in the room, until it went dead quiet. I couldn’t even hear the voices from the hallway. It felt like the air was humming with electricity and then I started to hear raspy breathing from the display case after what felt like an eternity my feet caught up with my brain and booked it out of the room so scared.

Poor thing 💔 I used to think ancient Egyptians would be happy to be in museums because they’re remembered so long after their deaths but I guess not. Do you think people stored in their original graves are more comfortable?
