I downsized so I can help my daughter with school. And I don’t think it’s temporary. I absolutely love this little house.

Am I the only one who has been doing this my entire adult life and just thought it was normal?

I think it comes down to spending too much time on our phones. Instead of just using them as resources, we are consuming more than we were ever meant to. if you think about it the less time spent on your phone the less frequent you come across something the “world says you need” when you really don’t.

Sorry this is off topic but... I was in Walmart today doing some grocery shopping with my hubby. We got in line to pay right in front of the clothing. I said, "Oh, moomoos! Be right back!" I went over and they had the cutest Christmas ones, only $9.98!! I had two (one for me and a matching one for my daughter) in my hot little hands and out of nowhere I swear your voice popped into my head. "You don't need anymore moomoos." Yep, I put them back. So thank you...I think. LOL 😂

Retired recently and important for us: being debt free, cheaper vacations, rethinking needs over wants, cooking at home more often.

Agreed. And to be clear, this is how I live my life always. For decades I’ve lived this way, doing all those things. What folks forget is that it is very easy to ride economic ups and downs when one is debt free and frugal. If one is enslaved by debt and doesn’t understand sacrificing, then it’s extremely difficult to ride out the economy, esp the downturns. Always embrace debt freedom and frugality as a way of life, not just a season of life.

Hi I agree with everything you say when it comes to budgeting./and at the moment./I’ve just got one big problem and at the moment I might as well just say it./well I have a major problem or hell of a massive problem./and the problem is that we’ve literally been sticking stuff on Vinted./and it just ain’t seeming to sell that quickly, and I’m really really hyped up./thinking stuff would sell literally hot cakes./so I’m going to have to see if it’ll sell on eBay at all as I’m really really want to sell so I can start getting my house in order./so I thought I’d ask you about this as you did whilst you was getting out of debt./as I’m really trying to get out of debt./and I’m really trying get it out of our lives as debt robs-you’re future./if people don’t watch out for this./and I’m really trying and I suppose I’m really getting impatient with it./as this is really really hard./when no one buys anything sometimes./as one day.out the blue someone messaged my husband to see if he could buy something-well my husband-replied to him where about in the next next minutg

Yes. We do most of these. I do not have a side hustle. Unless you count selling stuff on FB marketplace and vinted (which doesn’t come out to much. Maybe 200-500/year).
