it would be like if Idaho farmers were burning food during famines because they werent getting paid enough for them. so our government started locking up the farmers and redistributing their farms

It was, in fact, a UNION of states….. that was kinda the entire point actually….

it was mostly mismanagment but it is also kinda racist for the famine to happen the worse in the place where it is produced the most

Yeah redistribution would happen but the places like Idaho with good agriculture would not be starving while everywhere else is fine

Evidence doesn't even support the idea that Ukraine was disproportionately affected by the famine

So it's semantics. Unless you wanna defend "redistributing" food from an active famine to feed an artificial frankenstein megacity for the purposes of recording propaganda against the west ("look how prosperous moscow is, just don't look anywhere else pls")
Great equivalency tho, the US resitribiting from surplus areas towards the needy ones, while not denying the USSR did the exact opposite with Holodomor lmao

Wrong, the grain was being sold to Germany and the US to pay off the industrialisation, because name me WHERE exactly would the grain be redistributed if the famine was the most intense in places where the grain was being took from? Wouldn't it be more logical if they would take grain from places that didn't suffer from a famine and give it to places within famine?

Sure, but I would accurately argue the rest of the states steal chili pepper from Arizona and New Mexico, the only two states that do it right.

It is stealing when they didnt want to be part of the ussr. You arent understanding the fact that majority of the small countries that ‘ joined’ the ussr were due to the leader of the ussr removed & sponsered people in power to become communist in places like ukraine and poland. They used military threat to keep people in the ussr. People died to protest against the ussr. My grandmother lived under the ussr. They didnt have enough grain for themselves , only to have to send it all to moscow. And this was ALL the countries. They couldnt get new dhoes because all that wre produced were sent to moscow. The countries that were in the ussr were called satellite states because they were there for protection againt the west and to suck dry of resouces. ( i had to keep reuploading this bc i kept sending it too early sorry lol )

ukraine didnt even want to be part of the ussr they where invaded by the ussr a few years earlier this Is a horrible comparison, Imagine if the US invaded cuba and forcefuly redistributed their food to the rest of the US making cubans starve

Ukraine didn't want to be in the USSR in the first place, so they don't view the USSR collectivization policies as valid. Ukraine was militarily conquered, engaged in internal resistance, then had their farms collectivized and the output not redistributed correctly by Stalin such that millions died.

The ussr stole the food from the starving people you make the argument that it wasnt being taken from non starving states but thats not what happened, the ussr went to the farmers that were struggling and took the food leaving them to die.

Kazakstan lost half their population in the 30s because of the soviet policies. Just because Russia colonised a country doesn't make it okay for them to exploit and starve them

The "dekulakization" campaign inflicted serious damage, stripping the countryside of hundreds of thousands of stable, independent farms. But the primary blow was wholesale collectivization—a process that was forcibly accelerated precisely because individual farmers could not be compelled to sell their grain to the state at artificially low prices (whereas collective farms required no such persuasion). Far from all individual farmers were willing to accept this. In 1930, approximately 2.5 million peasants took part in acts of protest—comprising 14,000 separate uprisings, riots, and demonstrations. The response was a wave of repression and the initiation of the forced seizure of grain.
