@hidden_americanhistory: In 1930, the Virginia Supreme Court decided Thompson v. Smith, recognizing the common right to travel on public highways, including by automobile. But here's where things get controversial. American Jurisprudence discusses the government's authority to regulate driving and require licenses. Yet Thompson v. Smith also established an important principle: government officials cannot exercise unlimited, arbitrary power over that right. The courts have upheld driver's license requirements, but does that mean government authority has no constitutional limits? The real question isn't whether government can regulate driving. It's how far that authority can legally extend. American Paper Trail — Following the documents. Exposing the questions. Examining the law. Thompson v. Now it turned in to big money for your state to waste

Driving or traveling, which one ? You need one to be a driver, an employee. But if you're NOT working, conducting business, but handling your private tasks, then it's a household good. Necessary for LifeLiberty and the Pursuit of Happiness

If the courts recognize traveling as a right, where should the line be drawn between reasonable safety regulations and government overreach? Is requiring a driver's license reasonable regulation or an unnecessary restriction?

I have a friend who originally lost his driver's license for a DWI at the age of 25 and hasn't gotten them back yet due to driving under suspension. He is now 70 years old and has been in jail and the Penn for most of his life, still in now lf he is alive yet. Suspended for driving under suspension he will probably never get out alive.

waych their language it means the difference no matter what supreme court also said rights are permanent you cannot give them up if you wanted to . its crazy that these judges also tell people they have to give up a right to get probation when it wa the article 3 judges said they cannot give up any right and if they pass a law repugnant to the document that protects your right and they swear an oath to the document not legislature

FREE from TOLL, IMPOST, DUTY, and TAX! The federal government is the department of defence, as the president of the United States IS the commander in chief full time job as is every governor. To be the president and governor, they must be a citizen of the United States Armed Forces. Only citizens are qualified electors to vote for their commander in chief.
