There's a bit more to the CSeries story, Boeing successfully lobbied to have 300% tariffs put on them which would have fully killed the company. Selling it to Airbus them to be built at Airbus' factory in Alabama, avoiding the tariffs. The ITC eventually overturned the tariffs but by then it belonged to Airbus.
