Born and raised in Indiana been trying to leave since I was in my 20’s. Stayed because of family. Indiana definitely is not a welcoming state. People are rude here.

Born and raised. As a witch and a weirdo, it’s very hard to find friends. I love meeting new people who share my values.

I feel like Indiana is a black hole. once you're here you can never get out for very long. You always end up back. it keeps sucking you back in. I am absolutely miserable but it feels like I'm stuck here.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about being born and raised in Alabama. In my experience, the idea of “Southern hospitality” is largely a myth, and you don’t have to look much further than the comment section of any local community page to see why.
Huntsville, in particular, has attracted a growing number of educated professionals from other states, largely because of its aerospace, defense, and government industries, including NASA. Yet many locals seem to resent the very people contributing to the area’s growth. Someone can simply ask about relocating to Huntsville and be met with outright hostility, insults, and unnecessary ridicule.
For a region that prides itself on hospitality and friendliness, there’s a remarkable amount of hostility toward outsiders. The contradiction is hard to ignore.

Kentucky is like that too. But it's hard to move bc financially we are low men on the totem pole and it makes you pretty stuck. But that's how they want you Imo.

Hi Samantha, as a Hispanic woman from Las Vegas, who has recently moved to Indiana two months ago, I want to say you are very correct with this video. It is incredibly racist here. Never in my entire life have I experienced racism the way I have here. And truthfully I’ve only experienced racism twice now. When I lived briefly in Arizona and now here. Las Vegas has always been my home and where I grew up and spent my entire life, I wanted to grow and expand my knowledge so I moved to Arizona and very quickly moved back home, now I’ve decided to try Indiana and wow, the way I can be in an elevator and get unusual looks..at the grocery store I kindly told people who were blocking the aisle excuse me and they ignored me, I literally had to squeeze myself through, and just many other times I’ve had my feelings hurt due to my race is insane. Again, Las Vegas is such a diverse location where we have people from all over the world migrate there or simply tour, it’s not unusual to see every culture. People can dress however they want. Here I feel I’m quietly or outwardly judged constantly and it pains me to see such close minded individuals. I am deeply into astrology, tarot, and the occult which I know I could never openly practice here. But to my point thank you for sharing this video and validating how I’ve been feeling. Hopefully my partner can get a new project at a different location where it is more open and accepting then here soon. In the meantime I just mainly stay indoors and go out to grocery shop etc. I wish you happiness and that your new location feels more to your liking. Take care! 🖤
