@albertmewbornjr: October 27, 2026 — The report about a South Carolina police officer being fired after allegedly helping his son following a double homicide is accurate and supported by multiple news sources, including PEOPLE, WIS-TV and WRDW. However, the officer's alleged misconduct remains under investigation, and he has not been criminally charged. What investigators have confirmed Officer: Alexander Dukes Sr., formerly with the Manning Police Department. Son: Antwone Dukes, 22, arrested October 6, 2026, and charged in connection with two deaths. Victims: Keywaun Clark, 20, and Derek Parson, 19. Location: A Dollar General parking lot in Sumter County, South Carolina. Incident: Investigators believe the shooting arose from a planned armed robbery. Employment: Dukes Sr. was suspended October 8 and subsequently fired. Why the officer was fired According to South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy filings reported by WIS-TV: Antwone allegedly drove himself and the wounded Derek Parson to his father's home. His father reportedly placed a tourniquet on Antwone's injured leg. Investigators say the officer did not call 911, report the shooting or request an ambulance. Investigators reportedly discovered text messages suggesting the officer had previously informed his children about police roadblocks and traffic stops. Department records also state that he failed a polygraph examination. The Manning Police Department concluded that his actions may have obstructed the investigation and delayed medical assistance for Parson. These are the department's findings and allegations, not criminal convictions. Important clarification Alexander Dukes Sr. has not been criminally charged, according to the latest reporting reviewed. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division investigation remains ongoing. His son has been charged, but those charges do not establish guilt.
