@trusteebriones: I’m incredibly sad to learn of the passing of Dolores Huerta, a trailblazer, a champion for working families, and a true giant of the labor and civil rights movements. I first met Dolores in 2014 during Hilda Solis’s first campaign for Los Angeles County Supervisor. Over the years, I had the privilege of speaking with her many more times, both in my hometown of El Monte and at numerous events throughout California. I will always cherish those encounters and the opportunity to learn from someone whose lifelong commitment to justice helped change our nation. Dolores never stopped fighting for those whose voices were too often ignored. From the farmworkers’ movement to the struggles for civil rights, women’s equality, and immigrant justice, she reminded us that meaningful change comes from ordinary people standing together and refusing to give up. Her passing is an enormous loss, but her life’s work remains an inspiration and a call to action. The greatest tribute we can pay Dolores is to continue the fight for dignity, equality, and justice that she dedicated her life to advancing. Rest in power, Dolores. Thank you for showing generations of activists and public servants what it truly means to stand up for others. ¡Sí se puede!
