what you actually do is sell your boots if you don't have slots or buyback. the OD wasn't using boots. he's got them in his back pack and he would of had less buyback cost and had buyback without the risk of destroying euls. 99% of the time you are 5 to 6 slotted. you won't use boots and if you take movement speed talents. you won't need boots anyway. you can see he's max on items. once he upgrades scepter he has a slot where he could of used brown boots for travels later. so keeping those treads was just awful. he wasn't using them. he wasn't going to use them. he has blink and the tier 4 and 5 neutrals give movement speed
