@thetucsonpolice: Months-Long Investigation Results in Dozens of Vehicles Taken as Evidence After several months of investigation, TPD’s Threat Mitigation Unit (TMU) identified individuals involved in street takeovers, disrupted organized activities, and took steps to prevent future incidents across the city. Throughout the investigation, officers and detectives made a total of 20 misdemeanor arrests and nine felony arrests and impounded 18 vehicles. Three stolen vehicles were also recovered. Street takeovers have been reported at major intersections throughout the Tucson area. With valuable information provided by community members, officers and detectives were able to proactively address these activities through enforcement efforts. We remain committed to the safety of our community and will continue working with our partner agencies to address criminal activity associated with these events.
