@jessicaruth3: I don’t feel like myself at all this week… I’m not sad but I’m not happy either.. . . . #hs #hswarrior #hidradenitissuppurativa #hsjourney
HS outbreaks are very overwhelming! I am also in a big one right now. Please know you aren’t alone! There are days I feel like my body hates me and I just want to cry - there is nothing worse than feeling out of control of yourself! Sending you healing hugs from FL ❤️🩹

I would be very surprised if Kaiser will cover a private doctor.

so, from a stranger on the internet, I advise you to make time to rest. Its obvious you're an amazing mom, spouse, and a million other things. But girl, rest. I promise your kids will understand if you need a little break. Please make yourself a priority this week.❤

You need to stop feeling bad because you feel bad! You have the right to feel bad about yourself. You are a great human and Mother. It’s okay to have a meltdown. I’m praying for you to get a referral from your doctor.

Maybe it’s that feeling of defeat. A couple of years ago I had flares everywhere, even my face, which I’ve never had. With everything going on for you, stress may be the cause of this flare up. Then your derm not sending you out of network already is just too much. I’m so sorry, and I hope you will get e new doctor soon

I hear you. It’s so frustrating and disheartening at times, we research our chronic illnesses because we are our only patient so sometimes we do know more than our specialists and it’s like screaming into the void to be heard

I feel this. I was in a similar position with my migraines before my boys were born. Nothing helped. They were out of control. Every doctor I saw said “sorry, nothing we can do”. It impacted my job, school, home life, social life. Then FINALLY a new doctor recommended some stuff and it actually worked. I still get migraines but they’re waaay less and I can treat them. I barely go in to ER once a year. When it was 1-2x a month.

I am so sorry honey. Keep advocating for yourself. Be mean if you need to. You are so soft spoken and sweet that you may have to fight like you would if this were your daughter going through it to get them to take you seriously! You've got this!

It’s pure frustration. I literally just paid out of pocket to see my old doctor, cause not a single Kaiser doctor could see me. I was almost in tears by the time I saw my dr. It’s pure frustration

When is the last time you've had a hormone panel ran? I understand your teary because you're frustrated but since you are having so many flares and you are a little bit more emotional than normal I'm if your hormones are possibly out of balance. I'm so sorry!!

Can’t you just show up to his or her office tell them you need a referral and can’t wait any longer. I did it and they gave it to me.

not the same, exactly... but I've been dealing with an infected/non-healing surgical site since May. at one of my wound care appointments I was crying. not necessarily just from pain, but from exhaustion and frustration. she immediately was like "are you feeling overwhelmed?" and "maybe you need a therapist" which... i have two therapists and a psychiatrist. sometimes it's just fucking a lot and it's hard and it sucks and it's heartbreaking.
all of that to say... you can have big feelings without having SI. we are all here for you to vent, to cry, to be whatever you need. we got you.

Are you on any supplements? I didn’t realize a lot of the supplements I was on were causing repeated and severe flares, specifically my multivitamin and probiotics. Also, energy drinks can lead to worsening flares. I’m sure you know all of this issue, but thought I’d share. It changed everything for ❤️

I'm dealing with debilitating back issues, and I can't be seen for weeks and then potentially surgery weeks after that. it's so frustrating while you have to keep showing up for your kids. I feel like I'm going insane. I hope you get what you need soon ❤️
