I don't care what scholars say. I don't think I can be convinced that Christian holiday traditions were not influenced by pagan traditions. there are no Easter bunnies in the Bible. no decorated eggs. no Christmas trees or Christmas decorations. Jesus was not born during the winter. you can make any claim you want but these are obviously non Christian influences and that's not a problem.

i think people are forgetting that multiple things can be true at once. it CAN be alt-right propaganda and there CAN be influences or similarities between christian and ambiguous ‘pagan’ celebrations. no one is saying that pagan holidays are propaganda ?

I was one of 2 Jewish kids in my Christian private school and the other kids beat me up in 4th grade for saying Jesus was Jewish. They are like he was a Christian. I was like Christianity is “named after him” so he had to be born something else. More beatings.

a lot of people are bucking at the idea that "pagan origins for Christmas is Nazi propaganda" because syncretism is real, number one. and also bc the Nazis didn't come up with the idea that "Christians stole their traditions from pagans," they just simplified it to: "all the pagan traditions that Christians stole are Ancient Aryan Rituals™ and we should all be worshipping the Sun and White People on December 25, NOT Jesus the Jew" and this video (haven't seen the original the clip is from) kind of glosses over that distinction

historians and theologians have for a long time agreed that certain Christian traditions were borrowed or adopted from paganism. there are historical accounts and documents supporting this. why then is it not true? and im not asking as someone who wants to be correct.
