When people said they were doing nothing with their life, it usually means that they feel like they've not contributing to their life in a meaningful way. You could get a 100 master degrees but if you feel like you're not doing anything with the degree or the knowledge you learned it is still depressing.

me working full-time at my corporate 9-5 and doing my master’s in epidemiology also full-time but thinking oh other people are probably doing this way better and then I realized oh idk if people are doing both at the same time when people look at me like I’m crazy when I tell them

I got my masters in statistics 11 years ago, and it feels like “whatever” now, but every so often, I meet someone new and when it comes up, they look at me in awe, and I’m reminded that it IS a big deal.

I had lowkey gotten over this mentality and then sat on a hiring panel where one of the interviewers said (about an interviewee) “oh look he has a masters, so does everyone else here, you’re not impressive or special” 😭 OUCH.

But i feel the same, i feel like my bachelor degree was so undeserved because it was way easier than expected (i struggled a lot but i thought i would struggle more). And now i am doing my Masters degree and I see it comimg, that it is going to be exactly the same.
