There's something particularly interesting about the relationship between our inner development and the environments we live in. Sometimes we change our surroundings because we've changed internally. Other times, changing our surroundings creates opportunities for us to discover something new about ourselves. But I think there's another consideration worth preserving: our external circumstances don't always reflect the extent of our internal growth. We can develop considerably while still living within conditions we haven't yet been able to change. Perhaps the deeper transformation isn't necessarily becoming a different person, but creating circumstances in which the person we've become can more fully participate in life. And sometimes, home isn't something we need to return to. It's something we gradually createโa place where our present selves can finally arrive, belong, and continue. A lovely perspective to contemplate. ๐ฉ๐๐ฑ๐
