Shixian Koren :
In every sport, you only stop when the umpire calls it. Then appeal later.

Pickleball rule: If the ball hits the net post, the ball is dead and the rally ends. The player cannot legally return it after it hits the post. If the referee fails to call it and the player returns the ball, the referee should address the missed call under the applicable officiating procedures. The fact that the player returned it does not make the ball live again. Rule reference: USA Pickleball Rule 13.B.1 and Section 13. 2026 Official Rulebook. The exact fault depends on how the ball contacted the post or support system

Salamander1919 :
Why would it be up to the player to call a point? Ref should stop the point and call it if it’s a point.

Technically hitting the post doesn’t need anyone calling it. The point is over. Umpire was sleeping on the job

In pickleball, you can’t finish the point and say “oh it was out a few rallies ago”. Same shit with the post.

Kyla G :
My question is how come it can hit the net and it is still a fair ball if it goes over but if it hits the post but still makes it within the lines then the point is over?

So the referee eats when she needs to control the game, and she doesn't want to talk to player cause she is eating? How amateur!
