All of us mothers go through it yet it feels so completely isolating.

It absolutely kicks your ass. I would say it gets more manageable as baby gets older! My baby is 12M and I’m feeling more confident as a parent now

Ever since I had a baby, any time I see a new baby I immediately look at the mom and ask her how SHE is doing.

It’s like you get hit by an 18 wheeler, and then reversed back over by all 18 wheels … and then you still have to get up and feed the baby and change the baby and that’s considered normal? Motherhood is hard! But so so rewarding 🥰

My friend had a baby in August and just went back to work this week. I keep checking in to see how she’s doing because IT’S NOT EASY

It’s devastating that no one checks in on Mom. After a traumatic birth my mind and body were in shock and I could have used a lot more support than I received. Congrats to you and give yourself some grace when navigating this new normal ❤️

It’s SO hard. It does get easier, I promise BUT I think we live in a generation where people don’t want to over step anymore.

It’s horrific but you do get less crazy each baby. It’s like we are superhuman and the world is ignoring the absolute fact that we are a portal to another dimension

We do a celebration thing after a week or two where everyone can come visit mommy and she can choose to keep baby in the bedroom so no contact - that’s what I did. So everyone comes at a designated day during like a 3 hours window that is specified in the invitations, most come to say hello and congratulations and eat a little thing and drink the coffee/tea and leave, there are presents involved so it’s a vibe. After that mommy can just heal for 40 days, no unwanted visitors or outings or anything she’s not ready for.

Mine are 23 and 21 and I can VIVIDLY remember every moment from their births. People tell you it flies by and that is unimaginable when you are IN the thick of it. Savor it. Sink into it. Love every second.
