@lajollaca: Drama lives along the length of La Jolla’s coastline lately, as shown around 10:20 am Oct 28, when the high tide, predicted at 6.6 feet, crashed against the Scripps Park bluffs, The Children’s Pool seawall, The Marine Room and more. Rising sea levels, thanks to a marine heatwave and El Niño, mean high tides are really, really high, prompting frequent coastal flood advisories (the current advisory expires at 2 pm Friday, Oct 30) during which observed high tides are about 1.5 feet above the predicted tides, according to the National Weather Service. If you’re planning to watch the theatrics, stay back on dry land – these tides mean business and can inundate areas in moments. Have you seen the impressive waves yet? © @lajolla.ca | video by @provisions.media
