@mr.paidsocial: meta just dropped three new AI updates to the system that decides who sees your ad. one of them reads your ad before anyone has even seen it. meta says improvements to its ad ranking system drove 15.7% more conversions on facebook in Q2 alone. here's the full breakdown. 1. andromeda, the next generation andromeda is the first filter. it takes tens of millions of ads and shortens them to a short list of ads that are actually worth showing you. meta's own analogy is a store: it used to check the popular shelves, and now it checks the entire store in the same amount of time. it was co-designed with NVIDIA, and it scores every eligible ad at over a billion ads per second. what that means for you: more of your ad variants get considered for each individual person. meta says andromeda has driven 2.4% more conversions on facebook since 2025. 2. GEM, meta's biggest ads model GEM teaches the smaller models that pick your ads in real time. so if your campaign on instagram only gets a handful of conversions, it now benefits from what GEM learns across the entire platform. meta says GEM alone has delivered up to an 18.9% improvement in conversions since 2025. 3. GenRecs, the brand new one GenRecs is short for generative recommender. large language models now read your entire ad, the image and the text, and describe it in tokens. things like the brand, the color, the fit and the style. meta's example is a trail running shoe. the ad inherits what the model already learned about that category instead of starting from zero every single time. then it predicts the next ad for you, kind of like how chatgpt predicts the next word, and it finds the closest real ads, even ones that went live this morning. meta says it reasons more about what people want, so it can reach someone who's in the market for what you're selling even when nothing they've clicked on in the past looks like your ad. on facebook feed alone, meta says it drove nearly 2% more conversions across targeted segments in Q3. these are meta's published numbers, so your ad account might look different. the big takeaway: the AI is literally reading your ad. that's why you keep hearing creative is the new targeting. so what do you have to do? meta's answer is nothing. but what you get depends on what you give it. here's what I would do. first, make sure you're using the right goal. optimizing for a lead is not the same as optimizing for a sale or an app install. second, feed it real creative diversity and variety, and make what you're selling and who you're selling it to extremely obvious in the creative. third, give it room to work. don't try to hyper segment and optimize everything on your own. lean into the system they've built and focus your time and energy on what happens after the click. bad reviews and returns all impact your quality on the platform. the system keeps getting better at finding the right person. but like meta said, it still needs you to tell it what winning actually looks like. which of the three updates do you think matters most for your account?
