Yall have to realize that dog came from her mom who passed away lida was the only thing she had left of her mom… I know it was cruel to keep her alive but imagine losing the only thing you had left of your parent.

As cruel it was to keep lida alive for as long as she did there is no excuse but she clearly doesn’t have anyone else and I’m sure she’s been with her a long time. People are quick to be mean instead of acknowledging both sides of the situation.

That dog was damn near old enough to drink. That's a HUGE amount of time to bond. I agree she should have helped Lida pass a long time ago, but she was her mothers dog. A piece of life she would never have again. I'm not saying I agree with it, but I do get it.

I had a scrunkly old white dog that lived 5 years longer than my parents. Seeing Debra go through this has been hard and I just want to hug her because I know the pain of seeing the last reminder of your parents pass away

idk we dont kill people just because they are old and in pain, i think animals deserve that too. they love their humans. just like when my childhood dog was put down from cancer, never understood why she couldn't just stay until God took her home and why we had to kill her. so mean. I think about how she must have been so scared in the vet office around strangers and us all crying and being dramatic instead of peacefully passing at home in her bed where she was safe and happy

she made a statement as to why she let lida live til her timely death. She doesnt believe in using euthanasia for natural death. We dont have that option for humans so why would we have it for animals? lida wasnt in pain but she was dying, people need to understand...dying doesn't equal pain. she lived 20 years, that dog was eating and drinking till her last breath. Any other dying puppy story will tell you that dogs stop eating and drinking when they are in pain. Deb also gave her slme pain meds 3 times a day as shes said multiple times on live. She gave her last breath peacefully, and people have the right to let their dog pass naturally. Lidas death was not because of disease it was of natural causes , old age. It happens. Dogs die. They dont live forever. Its not evil for someone to not have the heart to end their companion of 20 years life early... anyone saying otherwise is the inhumane ones. Euthanasia only becomes humane when you have a valid reason, like being in pain. In this case, the dog died of old age which does not equal painful suffering.
