Chose as Hsa high deductible if you rarely see the dr. most insurances cover your basic preventive care check ups, like your yearly physical etc. if you see the dr regularly the big Con with the HSA is that you'll pay upfront high cost until you meet your deductible. for example, if you see a therapist you may be charged most of the bill until you meet your max out of pocket maximum before your insurance covers those visits. if you can afford it, go for it. if not I recommend the FSA they have fixed co-pays for most of your visits and needs, and you'll get day one fixed low co-pays. really helpful to keep cost low and predictable with regular dr and office visits. if your healthy choose hsa and max out the amount you can put in for the year and grow that money for when a real medical expense happens. Use the fsa a low estimated amount of what you think you'll spend through the year to prevent the use it or lose it rule, the irs should get you roll over only 600 for the following year.

HSA rolls over, and if your employer contributes, you might not even need to contribute your self, so that’s free money from your employer 👌👌👌

very useful information. I'll be doing an HSA next year. really enjoy using my FSA this year too. I recently found out about Truemed having lots of useful items like treadmills, gym memberships, air purifiers, all which can be purchased with FSA account

Have a ton of medical problems choose the FSA! If you barely/hardly go to the drs choose HSA! PLUS, if you barely/never go to the drs but you use dental and vision services often get the HSA & and the special purpose FSA!!!

I went with HSA because I assumed this year would be like every other year where I only ever went to the doctor for my annual physical and it has not turned out that way so now my HSA has been money in, money out and it doesn’t help since I’m on high deductible plan I get to pay for it all :(

don't forget with the FSA or even HSA.
there are products you can get with that card. so, you can use all the fsa by the end of the year.
example women can purchase feminine products. as well as other items

How do you go from saving the money to investing the money, I mean like if you don’t use the money you take that and invest it?

I would do HSA but I love the convenience of not needing a referral to a specialist so stick to PPO 😵💫 insurance is confusing

😮💨 as a tax accountant I hate USA accounts. So many don’t understand how easy it is to screw yourself with and hsa. Hsa accounts are great, but only when the holder understands how they work.

Ok i’m generally healthy. I just have 1 prescription that needs refilling every 3 months. I do all the preventative stuff. I do want to get braces but don’t know i could afford them. Would it be smart to get an HSA or a FSA
