@viralsanctuarysports: Stephen Curry just tied a record that belongs to LeBron James. Curry poured in a season high 44 points in Minnesota on Wednesday night, and it was his 15th game of 40 or more points since he turned 35 years old. That ties LeBron James for the most in NBA history. Michael Jordan is third on the list with 12, and Kevin Durant has 9. Curry is 38 years old, and one more night like this puts the record in his name alone. The line was vintage Curry: 11 of 27 from the field, 6 three pointers, a perfect 16 of 16 from the free throw line, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. Nineteen of his 44 came in the second quarter alone. Golden State built the lead to 24, then had to survive a late Minnesota run to finish it 119 to 114, a second straight win after the Warriors opened the season 0 and 3. Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg added 26 points for Golden State. Minnesota played without Anthony Edwards, and Jonathan Kuminga led the Timberwolves with 20 points against his former team. At 38, Curry is not chasing the young stars anymore. He is outlasting the record book. How many more 40 point nights does he have left in him?
