I don't know why people think they need to get rid of a dog when a baby is coming. If you introduce the baby to the dog correctly, it should be a problem. I have a 14 month old grandson and he is around up to 6 dogs at a time (4 at our house and 2 at his own house) and none of them bother him. The dogs are all medium to large breed dogs and they are all fine around him. We show him how to treat them properly and they know to give him his space. It can work with a proper introduction.
