I saw a great video of someone's analysts of the similarities between how Ethan treated Tam and Trish and the person's opinion was that Ethan started gaining attraction towards Trisha, but because he was struggling with his own health and weight, he had cognitive dissonance that made him repress his feelings/lust and twisted it into the "hate" we see Ethan giving her during the run of Frenemies. He effectively gaslit himself into hating Trish and everything about her (Moses and his son), just to not come to terms that he had some feelings towards Trish
