@user9962059133030: She left breakfast for her children... then put her head in the oven. But the story of Sylvia Plath is so much darker, and stranger, than people realize. A literary genius, a broken marriage, and a legacy that still sparks rage. This is the part they don't teach you in school. #sylviaplath #thebelljar #truecrimetok #literarytok #literature

I did a report on her. She was quite…. Uniquely frightening

ELLAUNCHARTED :

I was so sad when I read the bell jar

🌸🌸 :

The Unabridged journals changed my life, especially as a writer

Zoey Murphy 🎸💿 :

I thought it was believed she had borderline personality disorder (BPD)

💍 :

Did they reference her in Virgin Suicides? I believe one of the sisters in the movie died from sticking her head in the oven but in the book it referred to her attempting to overdosing on sleeping pills and failing.

Sherbear🐻 :

The Moon and the Yew Tree is my fav.

kimkmbr :

I am vertical will forever be my favorite poem of hers

b :

Both of Ted Hughes wives died in the same exact way, but no-one ever found that suspicious for some reason.

Bethyboo123456789 :

but when you burn yourself your body removed the body part from the flame. how could she put her head in the oven and stay there until she died? also did it set the flat on fire? what happened to her kids?

lizzy.hiet :

"I'm so pathetically intense. I just can't be any other way." ❤️‍🩹

susanaismo :

Ted Hughes was a malignant narcissist.

Kayli :

Poetry is so cool

Arlina :

and then Ted Hughes has the audacity to compile her work and even change the order and remove some of the poems in Ariel (which was never supposed to be read in his order, Sylvia actually wrote all the poems in a specific order to be experienced like a narrative)

Kimi :

her poem Child always stuck with me

daniellesworldd :

The bell jar was one of my favorite books of all time

sofia_99 :

I hated the bell jar

Bare :

I think about her all the time…

The belljar was my favorite book in middle school

beauchampa23 :

Interesting

Doug :

One of life's tragic tales

Francis Anthony361 :

I don't think anyone looks to the death of Plath as you describe. No doubt Hugh's must take share of his part in her suicide, but it's clear he'll was raised king before Highs came along.

Midnightslip :

wow I was going to say perimenopause took her but she was only 30 when she left this earth!
