Always weigh your food raw 👇 100g of cooked white rice is around 130 calories 100g of raw white rice is around 360 calories It weighs the same. But the numbers are different. 🍚 Rice absorbs water when cooking so its weight increases, meaning cooked rice will always have fewer calories per 100g than raw 🥩 Meat does the opposite. Water is lost during cooking so it shrinks in weight. The longer you cook it, the lighter it gets. So 100g of cooked chicken is not the same as 100g of raw chicken 🥔 Same with potatoes. They lose moisture during cooking so the cooked weight will be lighter than the raw weight The problem is that cooked weight varies depending on how long you cook something Raw weight is always consistent When you’re logging in MyFitnessPal or any app just search for the food in its raw or uncooked state for the most accurate tracking. You can search for cooked versions and it will still get you in the ballpark, which is fine for most people. But if you want accuracy, weigh when raw. Follow for more easy Lean Bulk tips 🤝
