@pro.glitch: How to transform your business with AI: map it first How to use AI and automation in your business the right way: start with process mapping. Most owners plug a new AI agent into their inbox first and nothing improves, because nobody wrote down what was broken. A process map shows you where AI pays off, where plain automation is enough, and what should stay done by hand. Process mapping for AI, step by step (example: a 12-person heating and cooling company): 1. Map the whole business in one line, from the first call to the paid invoice: inquiry, visit, quote, booking, install, invoice. 2. Write who does each step, and circle every handoff between people and teams. Handoffs are where work sits and waits. 3. Measure the process as it runs today: how often each step happens and how long it takes from start to done. Check people's answers against email and calendar data. 4. Pick the area with the highest ROI: hours saved, more customers saying yes, or getting paid sooner. Here it was the quote, which took four days. Write down one number before you build: days from visit to quote. 5. Break that process down step by step and list the edge cases where it goes wrong. 6. Label every step AI, automation or by hand. AI handles messy reading and writing (voice notes into clean notes, draft replies a person approves). Automation handles rules (pricing from the price list, sending, follow-up emails). By hand stays with judgment and trust (site visits, unusual prices, discounts, upset customers). 7. Build the AI workflow in a tool like n8n, with a human in the loop approving every quote. 8. Measure again with the same number. If it didn't move, go back to the map before adding more AI. Then pick the next step on the map. This works for any business: home services, clinics, agencies, online stores, accounting firms and office teams using Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Calendar and n8n. The Thinker's Mind, an eleven-episode series inside my community, teaches this way of thinking with one real process from your own work. The Automation and AI Automation courses teach you to build it. Eight courses in total. If you're interested, the link is in my profile. #aiautomation #aiagent #employee #claude
