@manpackradio: 🌐 HURRICANE ISAIAS READY? 📡 With Hurricane Isaias reminding us just how quickly normal infrastructure can be disrupted, there's one question worth asking: If the power goes out, cell service fails, and the internet disappears, how will you stay informed AND communicate with the people you care about? That's exactly why I build systems like this. In this video, I'm demonstrating the NOAA weather-monitoring capability of my Btech UV-50PRO manpack. NOAA Weather Radio provides forecasts, watches, warnings, and emergency weather information directly over the airwaves. No internet. No cellular connection. No subscription. Just a capable receiver, an operating NOAA transmitter within range, and a reliable power source. But here's where this system goes well beyond a dedicated weather radio. RECEIVING WEATHER INFORMATION IS ONLY ONE PART OF THE MISSION. This same battery-powered manpack allows me to communicate directly with family, friends, and neighbors who are part of my pre-established communications network. We've planned ahead. We know which frequencies to use, where our stations are located, and how to reach one another. Some stations might be running a manpack like this one. Others might have a simple handheld radio connected to . #manpackradio #prepping #gmrs #hamradio #usa
