@perth.local: Giant monsters and spooky laneways are taking over Subiaco! There’s a new Perth event to put on your radar this weekend, with larger-than-life art, unexpected laneway discoveries and plenty of Halloween mischief. 👻 Spookiaco is a celebration that brings art, transformed laneways, a themed market, Halloween-inspired food and drinks, and spooky experiences to Subiaco from 30 October to 1 November. One of the highlights is ‘Monsters Can’t Fly’, a brand-new inflatable light installation by Matthew Aberline and Beautiful & Useful Studio. If you caught Matthew’s ‘The Light Within’ for Subi Blooms x Gather earlier this year, you’ll know his incredible work. This time, colourful, patterned monsters create a playful world of storytelling, silliness and discovery. And it’s just one of the curious things happening across Subiaco this Halloween! Here’s what to look out for: 👹 Monsters Can’t Fly – A magical landscape of colour, light and very friendly monsters at Market Square Park. By day, they’re bold and playful. After dark, the glow takes over. ✨ 🕸️ Haunted Laneways – Discover Halloween-inspired decorations and unexpected surprises in Rokeby Lane, Kannis Lane, Walmsley Lane and Postal Walk. 🎃 Subi Fright Market – The popular night market gets a frightful makeover at Market Square Park on Saturday 31 October. 🔦 Spooky Walking Tours – Join Oh Hey WA to explore local ghost stories and Subiaco’s history. 🍸 Halloween-inspired treats and drinks - Discover themed offerings at participating venues, including a spooky cocktail crawl. Make a day or night of it - the monsters are waiting, the laneways are full of surprises and there’s plenty to discover around Subiaco! 📅 30 Oct - 1 Nov 2026 👹 Monsters Can’t Fly: on display until 8 November Find the full program at seesubiaco.com.au/spookiaco . . . . . . @See Subiaco #perthevents #seesubiaco #Spookiaco #halloween2026 #perth
