Not that you need validation but I feel like I need to share with you that I feel like this reading is spot on for my situation... Since January this year, my husband of 5 yrs and I have been living under the same roof but in separate rooms. He is upstairs, I am downstairs. We cohabitate but the transition from the normal spouse interaction has slowly evolved into roommate interaction. This has been a crazy mental journey for me, navigating the frustration of needing space (which prompted the separation in the first place) and navigating the change of traditional interactions to a non-intimate interaction and teetering back and forth with the grief of loosing that connection and wanting to explore who I am on my own. This has been difficult to do also just because we still share the same space... it's hard to be myself or the "myself" I envision in my mind. We have agreed to stay under the same roof through the end of the year. We just had a check-in discussion 2 days ago because I have been feeling so frustrated and irritated and everything he is doing is on my last nerve and I told him that I am just done and reiterated that I am ready to file for a divorce and I will be looking for different living arrangements after the end of December... it's like I have just let out a huge sigh that I spoke out loud my frustration and my intentions instead of trying to hold it in and act like everything is fine ... I really feel like I am ready to just close this door and open the new one......
