@howitworkssss: 🕯️🌿 Can a plant keep a candle burning inside a sealed container? The answer depends on science. 🤯 A candle burns only while enough oxygen is available. As it burns, it consumes oxygen and produces carbon dioxide, water vapor, and heat. Once the oxygen level drops too low, the flame weakens and eventually goes out. Plants influence this balance through photosynthesis and respiration. In the presence of light, photosynthesis uses carbon dioxide and releases oxygen. However, plants also respire day and night, consuming oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide. Whether the candle burns longer depends on factors such as light intensity, plant size, species, and the length of the experiment. What looks like a simple candle experiment is actually a fascinating demonstration of combustion, photosynthesis, respiration, and the natural cycling of gases. 🌍🧪 #Science #Physics #Biology #Photosynthesis STEM Chemistry DidYouKnow Knowledge Nature

My dumb self thought the plant would help the fire keep up the oxygen

That was actually a demonstration of volume. There was less volume air in the jar that had the plant because the plant took up a great deal of space.

so the plant doesn't make oxygen?

A candle should not last that long in a jar

the problem is not a plant. it is the path holds the plant. it takes a lot of space for the air

it's all about volume. The plant is taking up volume so less oxygen.

the one with the plant exausted faster because the plant was big and there was less oxygen in the jar, but what gas exchange" experiment is trynna teach i think, is how molecules go around in a circle, as the candle burns, its carbon molecules escape and bond with oxygen molecules in the air creating CO2 C=carbon, O=oxygen, and 2 because there is 2 oxygen molecules, and it happens to be the thing that most plants that rely on photosythesis use. to put it simply using the energy of the sunlight they absorb the CO, keeping only the carbon molecules, which they turn into sugars and nutriens for themself via photosynthesis, and the leftover oxygen is released back into the air. thats how the air we breath in and out gets cycled, the atoms stay the same yet the bonds change all the time
dont fact check me cause my knowledge comes from no mans sky and i might be talking complete nonsense to someone who learned actual science lol

из-за того, что банки одного размера, в одной банке больше вытесненных газов. повторите эксперимент с учётом объемов помещенных предметов!

yeah no... less space available mean less oxygen so the candle burns burns less..
Nothing to do with the plant except for the space it holds. The gas produce by the plant is a slow process anyway

w lewym nie ma rośliny , doniczki itp. a tym samym jest więcej powietrza.
reasumując w lewym pojemniku jest objętościowo więcej powietrza niż w prawym pojemniku.

I see your point but the experiment cannot work, the fire consume oxygen very quickly while photosynthesis takes much more time, also, it looks you made the experiment in darkness, without sunlight but photosynthesis only work when sun appears, if there’s no sun, the vegetal start a respiration process, like human, oxygen in, carbon dioxide out. Maybe you wanted to prove that the plant suck the oxygen in the jar but again, it’s more about the space in the jar nor a gas exchange. In this situation, there’s no exchange between fire and plant, because there’s no sun and so no photosynthesis

Yes :
Simply less air because the plant is big and take up space
