@oneaccorduk: The serpent may hiss, the enemy may scheme, but the child of God who stands in the authority of Christ need not live in fear. For Satan is a defeated foe, and the victory belongs to Jesus! One important thing to know here, is that our authority isn't something we wield independently or through our own strength. It comes through Christ and our faith in Him. Luke 10:19. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Bear in mind here, where it says "and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Context here matters because things do hurt us.. The promise isn't necessarily that the enemy can never wound you. It's that the enemy cannot ultimately separate you from Christ. We may suffer. We may grieve. We may be persecuted. We may even lose our lives. But suffering doesn't mean Satan has won. Christ has given us authority over the power of the enemy, but not a promise of a life without pain. We may be wounded, but we are not forsaken; we may suffer, but we are not separated from His love. The serpent may strike at our heels, but through Jesus Christ, evil will not have the final victory. The God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. — Romans 16:20. #Jesus #God #faith #peace
