Abu Musa al-Ash’ari reported: ‘Abdullah b. ‘Umar said to me: “Did you hear your father narrating from Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) pertaining to the special hour on Friday?” I said: “Yes, I heard him say: ‘I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) say: It occurs between the time when the Imam sits down (on the pulpit) to the time when the prayer is over.’” Note on other views: There is another highly authenticated narration in Sahih al-Bukhari (935) and Sunan Abi Dawud (1048) which indicates that this hour is also sought after the Asr prayer until sunset.
