@gaming.hub41: The reality behind the United States national debt and how tax policies impact our economic future. Secretary Pete Buttigieg breaks down the math behind the country's soaring national debt, pointing out that decades of specific tax cuts for the wealthiest brackets are the primary drivers of the deficit. Addressing this massive financial hurdle is critical to ensuring a stable economic future for everyday taxpayers. Do you agree that restructuring the tax code is the fastest way to fix the national debt? Discuss below. #economicfuture #nationaldebt #taxreform #economy #wealthinequality
I love a good half-truth. Yes, Republican tax cuts contributed to the national debt, but pretending government spending hasn't played a major role is just as dishonest. Entitlement programs and social safety nets also come at a cost, and somewhere along the way, parts of that safety net became a security blanket, one that some people are perfectly content to stay wrapped up in as long as the government checks keep coming. A safety net is supposed to help people get back on their feet, not become a permanent hammock. It's almost as if politicians from both parties are cut from the same cloth, spending our hard-earned tax dollars like Monopoly money, buying votes, protecting their political careers, and leaving the rest of us to foot the bill.

Yup, and since we Democrats are actually fiscally responsible, we will be the ones who fix it and since it’s boring, we won’t get any credit for doing it.

Muddying the waters with this comment. Anyone that can do math can see that the amount the social safety nets cost Americans are pennies compared to what the ultra rich cost the American taxpayer. So can you do math, are you brainwashed, or are you just being a bad actor? Which is it?

I’d rather go into debt buying food and shelter than go into debt buying my twelfth gun.
