@jameseditioncom: Markus ‘Notch’ Persson, the creator of Minecraft, is selling his Beverly Hills megamansion for $70 million, the same price he paid in 2014 when he famously outbid Beyoncé and Jay-Z for the property. Crowning the top of Hillcrest Road in Trousdale Estates, the street many call Beverly Hills’ Billionaire’s Row, the approximately 22,300 sqft estate sits on nearly one acre with panoramic views stretching from Downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean. Built by renowned developer Bruce Makowsky, the residence spans two levels connected by a private elevator with eight bedrooms and 15 bathrooms. The primary suite has its own swimming pool overlooking the Los Angeles basin. Since acquiring the home, Persson has added a multimillion-dollar professional recording studio with a separate drum room and a fully built private nightclub featuring a DJ booth, dance floor, bar, custom lighting, and a club-grade sound system. The original purchase included a $200,000 candy room, a 2,500-bottle wine cellar, and an 18-seat movie theater. A second swimming pool, staff quarters, and an on-site security office complete the compound. Persson purchased the estate shortly after selling Minecraft developer Mojang to Microsoft for $2.5 billion. He is reportedly spending less time in Los Angeles.
