I hate this trope but I don’t think hiccup fits here, he was never better than Astrid at what she was training for. Astrid kept beating him at the dragon training cause she was better than him until he cheated basically and when they started taming dragons she bonded with stormfly much faster than hiccup did with toothless. Astrid the goat btw

Fraise 🍓 :

being a woman = being a love interest

Jett<3🏳️‍⚧️ :

hate this troupe

I’m seeing a pattern

Cousin_of_sisyphus :

Half of these are misses. Hiccup and Astrid? No. Ratatouille? No. Avatar? No. Like the first 2 sure but even tigress and poe are pretty equal in a lot of ways it’s just a title he’s not actually above her

Uran :

Basically real life lol

schmiggy.azalea :

All for her to end up his wife or sacrificing herself for him… why are those the only two options we’re given 🫩🫩🫩

I hate it.

Smolmothball🏳️‍⚧️ :

Applies to these two as well. Seriously, why couldn't they have trained Leia to be a Jedi, she had the same force potential as Luke, and she was experienced in combat and leadership already!!!

milk :

First of all, Hiccup wasn’t ’the chosen one’, he just had different beliefs than the rest of Berk. Secondly, Hiccup being the main character can’t disregard Astrid’s training because they literally weren’t even training for the same thing. Astrid was training to kill dragons while hiccup wanted to learn more about them. He won the dragon training not because he was better or more experienced than her, but because he was using more peaceful techniques that no one else had ever thought of before. I’m sorry I’m obsessed w httyd so this made me upset

cheifqweefa :

The avatar one makes me so mad, how are the colonizers the ones connecting to eywa
