This conversation happened shortly after a vet visit where Loki had his nails clipped. He started with “sick,” followed by “ouch” and then “paw.” I thought something was hurting, so I tried checking his paws. He wasn’t particularly cooperative and started biting me… Then, he pressed “mad” (x4) before walking away to play with his mouse toy. I couldn’t find anything wrong with his paws, which made me wonder if he was actually telling me about his experience at the vet rather than something that was currently hurting. Was he complaining about having his nails clipped? Was he mad that I was touching his paws again? Or was he frustrated because I wasn’t understanding what he was trying to tell me? I think he was narrating, but I obviously can’t know for sure. I find conversations like this fascinating and I’d love to hear your thoughts!

They may have trimmed a nail too short and got the quik which is a blood vessel the goes through the base of the nail. Like we got our nails to short. It hurts. He might be mad it hurts.

I think it's that front foot he has folded up under him in the beginning, and I agree that it's probably one was cut too short. I'm always mad when I break a nail too short and forget until I touch it 😭

Mine is: what are the palms like? Have them have complete blood examination and check on the kidneys, liver and pancreas. Sometimes a kidney problem spills over to cats' paws. They walk little, they hurt, they always lick their paws It happened to mine and I realized it late

i still think it could be a dental thing like a tooth abscess. 2 signs besides the one i mentioned a couple and him saying ouch then biting you 😼 is he clearly has a swollen chin, yes... and i can't tell if he has a puffy nose or not i always knew when something was wrong with my elderly black cat's teeth bc her chin would get swollen and slightly puffy. you know your cat best but the puffy nose is almost unnoticeable with cats. i'm probably not got to mention it again but would look into it.
