@superpowersai: You're going to want to save this. Especially if you have a short attention span (thanks to our phones). 📱 One phone setting gave people back 7 hours a week. No app blocker. No willpower. No new system. A team at UC Berkeley asked a group of working professionals to switch their phones to greyscale and leave them that way for 3 weeks. Nothing else changed. Average result: one hour less phone time per day. I tried it. Within a few days I would pick up my phone, look at the screen, and put it back down. The pull was gone. Most focus advice blames your discipline. The DESIGN is the problem. Your phone was built by behavioural scientists whose job is holding your attention, because your attention is the product. Colour saturation. Infinite scroll. Every piece tested on people like you. You don’t have to accept the defaults. Simple 1 minute change: iPhone: Settings, Accessibility, Display and Text Size, Colour Filters, switch on, select Greyscale. Android: search greyscale in Settings. The path differs by phone. Give it 3 days. Use your hour back for a walk, a workout, or one focused block of work you didn’t have all week. Share this with your network. ♻️ 🔮 🔮 🔮 Hiya! I’m El, AI trainer and coach.
