THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY ORDERS more than a vocation; it is a sacred calling to surrender one’s life to Jesus Christ and become a shepherd of His people. In the Old Testament, God called Aaron, the brother of Moses, to serve as a priest (Exodus 28:1). His priesthood foreshadowed the perfect High Priest, Jesus Christ, who offered Himself once and for all for our salvation (Hebrews 9:11–14). Christ then called His Apostles, entrusting them with the mission to proclaim His Gospel, celebrate the Eucharist, and bring His mercy to the world. Among them was Saint Peter, to whom Jesus entrusted the keys of the Kingdom and commanded, “Feed my sheep” (Matthew 16:18–19) (John 21:17). Today, this apostolic mission continues through the Church, under Pope Leo XIV, the successor of Saint Peter. Today The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is Celebrated. bringing Christ to His people through the Eucharist, and offering God’s mercy through confession. It means baptizing, preaching the Gospel, blessing marriages, anointing the sick, and accompanying the dying. But it also means visiting the lonely, feeding the hungry, comforting the grieving, guiding struggling families, and serving those whom the world has forgotten.A priest is called to serve not only when it is convenient, but also when it demands sacrifice. Behind the vestments is a man who experiences exhaustion, temptation, and suffering, yet is called to remain faithful to Christ and His people. His authority is not meant for domination, but for service. For Jesus declared, “The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve” (Mark 10:45).The Church does not need priests who merely wear the vestments of Christ; she needs priests who strive to carry His heart. Let us pray for our priests, support them, and encourage young men to answer God’s call with courage. May the Lord raise up holy shepherds who proclaim the truth with love, administer His sacraments with reverence, defend the dignity of every soul, and give themselves wholeheartedly to His people. Lord Jesus, strengthen Your servants, sanctify their hearts, and make them faithful shepherds after Your own Sacred Heart. May Your Church never lack holy priests to bring Your Gospel, Your mercy, and Your sacraments to the world.Amen AVE CHRISTUS REX! 👑✝️🇻🇦 #catholic #priesthood #catolicos #christiantiktok #jesuschrist - @servuschristiregis_a
