You asked a native Spanish speaker to repeat themselves. They did. And you STILL didn't understand. Now what? This is one of those moments that can make even experienced Spanish learners feel completely lost. You're having a perfectly normal conversation. You understand what's being said, you're answering questions, everything is going well. Until someone asks you something you don't quite understand. So you say, *“¿Otra vez, por favor?”* They repeat the question. And you still have absolutely no idea what they're asking. Here's something I want you to understand: Sometimes, hearing the same sentence again isn't going to help you understand it. Maybe it's an expression you're unfamiliar with. Maybe it's the way the question is structured. Or maybe your brain simply isn't making sense of what you're hearing. And that's when you need a different strategy. Instead of asking someone to repeat themselves for the third time, try: - “¿Me lo puedes decir de otra manera?” — Can you say it differently? - “¿A qué te refieres?” — What do you mean? - “¿Quieres decir que…?” — Do you mean that…? Because the goal isn't to understand every single word the first time you hear it. It's to know how to keep the conversation going when you don't. And that's exactly the kind of skill we practise in my Spanish sessions. If you already speak Spanish but still find yourself getting lost in spontaneous conversations, DM me “BREAKTHROUGH” to apply for a Spanish Breakthrough Session🌸
