![After twenty-two years of censorship and legal battles, this film is here to stay.
In 2002, Mohammad Bakri made Jenin... Jenin, a record of the Israeli invasion of the Jenin refugee camp. In return, the film faced bans and two decades of relentless legal targeting so you wouldn’t be able to watch it. In 2024, as history repeats itself, Bakri returns to Jenin.
Janin, Jenin is showing as part of a triptych to honour the late Mohammad Bakri, one of the most prominent Palestinian filmmakers with Le Monde and Since You Left.
We are so honoured that we will be joined by his son, actor and filmmaker, Saleh Bakri, for Q&As following the film sessions.
