Sir, if you did not play hell Walker this is not a review you should be making that is why there are difficulties and toggles meant for your experience. You are playing a game that is not catered to you at the moment cater the game to you by changing the difficulty. That’s why they made that an option as for the story, a lot of Chinese, donghua and stories cant go back and forth through time and be confusing its like the opposite of anime were there is too much exposition.

Yea i think ppl will be surprised it’s closer to hack and slash than souls like but that’s amazing for me. The game never advertised the story so im not surprised it’s lil bare bones. Also bosses meant to be crazy its a Chinese wuxia the memorable story bosses are gonna be at end of each area and prolly final boss another thing i really like tbh. Not everything needs to transcend the industry only like 1% of games do but for this company’s debut stepping out of mobile games this is phenomenal start

I'm not advocating for you to play on a higher difficulty, but it literally says "Enemies attack without mercy and memorise your attack patterns" for Hellwalker difficulty, which would kinda void your criticism of their attack patterns because they change

so you're playing on normal saying the game is easy.... you don't upgrade weapons so you don't get other combos and abilities.... but the combat is just xxxx yyyy huh?

The story is in a very Chinese style. It’s told in pieces and often not in order. It’ll take some deciphering at the end to piece things together.

Tbh boss fights in Black Myth Wukong weren’t difficult at all and I didn’t mind the button mashing in that game so I’ll definitely enjoy this .

Yotei has a peak story , wukong has superb gameplay … still takes nothing away from how great this game is its just more like a devil may cry meets wukong hybrid

Would this game be comparable to Black Myth Wukong? I didn't enjoy that game too much on a similar basis of button-mashy combat, but I really liked ninja Gaiden 4, sekiro, and Elden ring

Idk I dig the story. It’s secret kung fu order betrayal shit. I wanna know who the man in the gold mask is to Soul and I’m curious to see if I actually feel like Souls brother did a bad thing by killing the Shifu. I’m kinda on his team right now other than you know stabbing Soul in the heart.

complains about difficulty and it is too easy... playing on normal is such a dumb take. ok, hellwaker is also not that hard , but still better due to extra skills for bosses and better non boss pattern

combat for the game feels odd to me, it's like Devil May Cry but with much less combo potential. bosses feel like you just parry/dodge until you get a window to attack and then "it's your turn". idk compare this to Black Myth Wukong and you'll see what the combat could've been
