Cay 🐝 :
Hey so expiration dates don’t function like that with makeup, with the exception of products that contain actives (ie sunscreens, acne treatments, tinted spf moisturizers) because they are classified as dr*gs and have to have a hard expiration date. Other than that, makeup expiration dates function more as best used by dates. They’re typically tested for shelf stability for a certain period - 6-12 months - and then after that they can’t be guaranteed to function the same way, although some products have a higher likelihood of oxidation, degradation of product and bacterial growth (like liquids). But, if you are sanitizing your products and storing them properly, you could continue using your products for years. Just check for obvious signs (smell, feel, etc) that a product is no longer good. I know he’s not a good person, and people are trying to declutter, but if a person already spent the money on a product and it still works, I don’t think we should be encouraging creating waste without reason.
