Replying to @Christianne Risman UPDATE 🚨How to claim expenses and compensation after a delayed flight ⬇️ 💾 Save this for the future and send to someone this may help!! So first, search for your airline name plus “delayed flight claim”. You’re looking for the airline’s page, not a third party. 💰 EXPENSES 💰 What I wrote: Dear Wizz Air Customer Service, I am submitting a claim for reasonable expenses incurred due to the delay to my flight. Flight number: Route: Date of flight: Scheduled departure: The flight was delayed by more than two hours, which triggers your obligations for care and assistance under UK Regulation UK261. Category: Meals and refreshments Expense: Sandwich, snack and water Cost: €11 Explanation: No meals or refreshments were provided during the delay. Legal basis: UK261 Article 9(1)(a) requires the airline to provide meals and refreshments when delays exceed two hours on short-haul flights. Category: Ground transport Expense: Taxi Cost: £58.36 Explanation: No viable public transport options were available at the time of arrival. Legal basis: UK261 Article 9(1)(c) requires the airline to provide appropriate transport where necessary due to disruption. Total amount claimed: £58.36 + €11 All receipts and supporting evidence are attached for verification. I look forward to your confirmation of reimbursement in line with your obligations under UK261. Chelsea Dickenson ⚠️ IS YOUR AIRLINE SAYING NO TO YOUR CLAIM BUT YOU THINK THEY’RE WRONG?! ⚠️ It’s time to search for your airline name and “ADR” which will bring up their Airline Disputes Resolutions scheme. 💰 COMPENSATION💰 Here’s what I submitted to the ADR: I seek UK261 compensation. Wizz Air records show a 2h58 delay, implying doors would open around 01:08. Passengers were not able to disembark until after 01:10. Under Germanwings v Henning (C-452/13), arrival is when doors open and passengers can leave. I have submitted photo evidence and can also provide video evidence of the captain announcing the reason for delay, and the disembarkation process.  📣 LET ME KNOW… Do you think I’ll be successful? And how long do you think it will take?!! WISH ME LUCK! 🍀
