Bots found them within minutes and started 48 GPU servers. Then 12 more in São Paulo. If it ever happens to you, do this, in this order: 1. Deactivate the leaked key first. Deleting the commit doesn't help: the bots already copied it. 2. Stop everything in EVERY region, not just yours, and remove any users you didn't create. 3. Open a support case: "compromised credentials, billing adjustment." Providers often waive a first-time incident if you act fast. 4. Turn on a budget alert, cost anomaly alerts, and GitHub push protection, so a key never reaches a public repo again. Pro tip: keep keys out of your code entirely.
