You’re missing several key aspects here. Natural chemistry. Then there is respect for their craft, this matters a lot in the workplace. The senior manager needs to facilitate this. Lastly; it’s about a willingness to collaborate. Without that and the team ship it won’t happen

You should be friendly and want to get on with each other but not feel obligated for your relationships to be anymore than what they are. I love my team (most of the time) but I make it clear that they are their own people.
