@the_rnb_talk_show: We at The RnB Talk Show send our condolences to Melvin Sephus family and friends 🙏🏾🤍. Cleveland, Ohio's own The Rude Boys established a powerful legacy in the late '80s and early '90s New Jack Swing and Quiet Storm scenes. Discovered by R&B legend Gerald Levert, the vocal group achieved notable commercial success on the Billboard R&B charts, spearheaded by two consecutive number-one smash hits. Billboard R&B Hits Chart History "Come On Let's Do It" (1990) — no.38 R&B. The group's very first introduction to the charts, which set the foundational groundwork for their New Jack Swing sound. • "Written All Over Your Face" (1991) — no.1 R&B (Peak: no.16 Pop). This legendary Quiet Storm ballad stands as the group's signature masterpiece. It won the 1991 Billboard Music Award for No. 1 R&B Single of the Year and famously features a soaring guest vocal arrangement by their mentor, Gerald Levert. • "Are You Lonely For Me" (1991) — no.1 R&B. The follow-up single from their debut album duplicated the success of their first hit, locking in a consecutive week at the top spot on the charts. "Heaven" (1991) — no.15 R&B. A smoother, mid-tempo ballad that served as the third chart-topper variant lifted from their highly acclaimed debut album. • "My Kinda Girl" (1992) — no.4 R&B. This upbeat, New Jack Swing-infused track served as the lead single for their sophomore project, Rude House, keeping them securely inside the R&B Top 5. • "Go Ahead and Cry" (1992) — no.43 R&B. A deeply emotional ballad released as the secondary tracking single from the Rude House era. • "Nothing to One" (1997) — no.74 R&B. A late-'90s single from their independent comeback album, Rude As Ever. The original lineup of the group included Sephus alongside Larry Marcus (who passed away in 2016) and Edward Lee "Buddy" Banks (who passed away in 2020), as well as Joe Little III. Although health issues had kept Sephus from actively performing with the group's surviving or touring members in recent years, his legacy remained deeply intertwined with the group. In 2019, The Rude Boys were inducted into the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in Detroit, Michigan. #melvinsephus #thernbtalkshow #ohio

God had to add him to his ultimate R&B music collection in heaven!
I hate sickness and getting older!
Definitely a girl anthem playing on the 📻 radio stations like 98.7 Kiss FM and 107.5 WBLS as little kid growing up in the 1990s CrownHeights/Flatbush, Brooklyn!
