@thetalkbackroom: Should they still be deported because they broke the law, or should the life they’ve built here count for something? #TheTalkBackRoom #ImmigrationDebate #Politics #LetsDebate #RealLife
its hard to justify sending back honest hard working people who've been here that long. have they been paying taxes the whole time? and how?

You think because someone has lived here for 20 years exempts them from the law? Do you seriously believe that?

How do they pay taxes without documents? I was born here and I have to have documents to get a job and pay taxes.

They had 20 years to apply for a green card if they did not want to be a citizen and a green card can be done quicker then citizenship. It took my family a year and a half to get out green cards

Someone robs a bank 20 years ago, but gets a job and raises a family afterward. Let the criminal go free?

That’s like asking if a murder should still be convicted for breaking the law and they don’t figure it out for 20+ years. Point is they still broke the law period

Then off you go mate. If you can't trouble yourself with legal matters then you're a burden that needs to be deported.

That I don’t mind. However, during that time to avoid risks of deportation then should have applied for citizenship. Because within 20 years they would have definitely gotten it by then.

We have rules and laws that need to be followed. Look at the laws of other countries.. you’d be in jail or deported immediately so I don’t understand why people feel that it doesn’t apply to them

they are not paying taxes if illegal. you need a SS# OR WIN to pay taxes. If they have either one then they are breaking the law even more.
